Heather Ward is a self-taught emerging artist from northern New Mexico.
Drawing from a young age, she has almost always used animals as her
subjects. After some time away from drawing during college and graduate
school, she decided to revisit her interest in art.
As a scientist, Mrs. Ward loves to express a high level of realism in
her art and constantly works to improve her techniques. Constant
learning and experimentation have brought her to her favorite medium,
charcoal, as she strives to show her animal subjects full of life and
personality.
Mrs. Ward has displayed work in Art Center exhibits, and she will be the featured artist in the Portal Gallery of the Art Center in June/July of 2010. Her work may also be seen at Marilyn's Village Arts, both as originals and as prints.
Ward's website, www.heatherwardwildlifeart.com, displays her work along with tutorials of her process. Contact Heather Ward at 505-412-3067 or email heather.ward@animalartists.org.
